December 6, 2010

Dear Parents,

Progress reports go home today in the Monday folders.  There are only 10 school days left in this third six week grading period after today.  The end of the semester is December 21, 2010. Wow!  This school year is moving on too fast.

Our new school website is in progress and will be online soon!  It will be easy to navigate and has great new features.

The district UIL Academic Meet is tomorrow, Tuesday, December 7th at Huckabay.  Permission slips have to be turned in by 3:00 p.m. today.  Good luck to all our participants in the UIL Academic events!

The Christmas parties for all elementary students will be Friday, December 17, beginning at 2:30 p.m.  Look for more information coming soon in a letter from your child’s teacher.

The Polar Express is on track to visit Rising Star Elementary.   It will be arriving on Monday, December 20th and students will be climbing aboard for a great story!

We are beginning to have more absences due to upper respiratory illness.  Other students are absent with a stomach virus.  Please remind your children to wash their hands frequently and use safe and healthy habits like covering their mouth when they cough, sneeze into their elbow, and don’t put their mouth on the water fountain.  We are stepping up efforts to sanitize common areas and stop the spread of germs.

Dates to remember:

December 20 – Elementary students released at 12:30 p.m. Bus runs at 12:50

December 21 - Elementary students released at 12:30 p.m. Bus runs at 12:50

We hope you have a great week!
